The Himalayas!
My friend Paula, Arik and I at the Nepalease Himalayas.

Hello everybody,

Got to Nepal after 4 days of a bus ride from hell!!! It would have been a real killer it was not for the lovely Tibetan people in the bus! The more I get to know them the more I love them! They are soooooo helpful and kind. There was this guy seating behind me, who would, now and then, started singing with such a soulful voice, this beautiful songs. It would give us all an extra boost of patience and strength. We need it! Through my friends in the school I managed to get this ticket in a private bus of the Tibetan community, from Delhi straight to Kathmandu (usually you have to get trains and buses to get here). The trip was supposed to take us only 2 days, but because of the Maoists and of the corrupted Indian and Nepali officials trying to get money from the poor Tibetans, it took us double time!! Lots of checking points. I am still recovering! And can you believe it that here i am again around political and social turmoil! It's a joke!! As soon as I decided the date I was coming to Nepal I started hearing that the Maoist were at full action in Nepal regardless of the cease-fire agreement. Yesterday there was a massacre in a village near Kathmandu and 40 people were killed!!!

A very good friend of mine, Paula, came to meet me in Nepal. It will be wonderful to travel a little with someone. She came totally out of the blue!! Crazy one. It was the reason I had to come so quickly to Nepal.
Thankfully, I arrived in time to pick her up in the airport. We hadnt planned anything and it would be terrible if she arrived and I was not there to meet her!

Anyway, my friends, tomorrow we leave to Chitwan National Park, where we will go to a Safari. Afterwards, we head to Phokara where we will go on a three days rafting trip. THat will be a lot of fun. Today we went on a mountain flight. Saw the Everest up close!! Beautiful.

I will keep in touch, please, do the same ok?

Love and Peace, always,

Jackie
